This is what I call a serious milkshake.

Let us know if you have the courage to try this.

After all, what is better than CAKE and ice cream?

Cupcake Milkshake

Cupcakes and ice cream—those twin quasars of deliciousness, those icons of dessert. Is there any way they could possibly get any better?
Yes. By combining and blending them into a buttercreamy dream of a milkshake. At least that's the idea behind CupShakes, a beautiful new collaboration between Utah's The Sweet Tooth Fairy and Sammy's Cafe (an establishment already known for their pie milkshakes).
Now, the official CupShake is comprised of soft serve ice cream and a cupcake mixed with an Electro Freeze machine. Lacking these resources, my homemade version was made by combining a cupcake and an entire ice cream cone in a blender, which seemed to work out just fine. As for flavors, choose your own adventure: carrot cake with caramel ice cream? Funfetti with vanilla? The possibilities are endless.
One thing's for sure: this shake is so rich, so thick, so decadent, it would bring a tear to Paula Deen's eye.
Cupcake Milkshake
- makes 1 milkshake -Inspired by CupShakes.
Ingredients
1 cupcake

1 2-scoop ice cream cone (sugar or wafer cones are both fine)

1/4 cup heavy cream
Procedure
1. Place cupcake and ice cream cone in blender. Pour 1/4 cup heavy cream directly on top.
2. Blend until fully incorporated. If the shake is thicker than you'd like, add 1/4 cup more heavy cream and blend again, just until incorporated.
3. Serve immediately. If desired, garnish with whipped cream and sprinkles.

Grand Opening Week!

Thanks to everyone who came to our Grand Opening and the opening week of CAKE!

We were very surprised and pleased to have sooooooo many stand in line for our CAKE cupcakes on Saturday May 30, 2009! It was an amazing day.........thank you, thank you, thank you!

We offer Red Velvet, The Diner, Birthday Surprise, and our Signature Triple Chocolate every day. We then add an additional 3 flavors every day. The 3 additional flavors will rotate through our 30+ flavors.

We have found the Red Velvet Cupcake is the HOT seller our first week. This Southern cake flavor has a light chocolate taste, deep red color and our delicious homemade cream cheese icing.

The Diner Cupcake is running a close second.

The Diner is a moist yellow cake with our homemade chocolate buttercream icing.

Oh yes.......did I say our icings are made with real butter? Our icings are made with real butter, real cream, real chocolate, really great real stuff!

Signature Triple Chocolate Cupcake is our dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate chips, chocolate buttercream and dark chocolate ganache with CAKE written in white buttercream as the garnish!

That cupcake actually has 4 chocolates! Great!!! You get a bonus chocolate! If you love chocolate.....this is the cupcake for you. Dark, delicious, decadent, moist chocolate cake! Wow!

Birthday Surprise Cupcake is a vanilla bean cake with pink buttercream and a center filling. The surprise.....the filling flavor and the sprinkles color change every day!

Many of our gourmet style cupcakes feature fillings. Fillings in cupcakes may be unusual, but trust us.......those fillings make CAKE cupcakes the most yummy things you have ever tasted!

Sunday AJ News Story

Please check out the cupcake story in the Sunday June 7 edition of the Lubbock AJ newspaper.

Just don't believe all the names and photos!

While we are happy about the Cupcake story, most things I told Chris when he came to our shop were attributed to the owners of PoC, the other cupcakery in Lubbock. Even a photo of me (Linda Kay) has the other owners name under it! I am sure she is not too thrilled about this either....I am a fluffy person, she is probably tall and thin!

All kidding aside.........I guess any talk about Cake cupcakery is good news, even if the names and photos are not all correct!

We believe there is room in Lubbock for multiple cupcakeries. After all, there are many donut shops and a coffee shop on every corner........we at CAKE say "GO CUPCAKES"!

There is a cupcake and cupcakery for every taste!
